Branded Content, Creative Direction, and Photography for Ferrari

In 2015 Alister & Paine Magazine–the digital magazine for 21st century executives–worked with Ferrari to provide creative content for the 553 horsepower California T.

We were given one of these beauties for a trip from Yosemite to Napa, where we reviewed and photographed the car before launching a branded content campaign with a native advertising component.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Ferrari’s North American PR firm worked with Alister & Paine Magazine to develop an editorial on their lightning fast California T. In the end, Ferrari was so happy they reached out to license the photography. In bocca al lupo!

MY ROLE

In addition to being the official test-driver, I was the Creative Director tasked with overseeing location scouting for the photoshoot, photography, managing the editorial component, and building the social and native advertising strategy.

HORSEPOWER

THAT’S A LOT OF PONIES

This Italian beauty was powered by a 3.9 litre V8 pushing a whopping five hundred and fifty three horses to the rear wheels. Certainly not the fastest Ferrari out there, but it definitely beats a Jetta.

FERRARI’S GONE NATIVE

We reached nearly a million people with this campaign with an integrated social and native distribution strategy that allowed readers to find our content in publications like Fortune and ESPN.

THE PHOTOSHOOT:

OGNI MORTO DI PAPA!

Italians have a saying for something that’s so incredibly rare it’s as uncommon as the passing of a pope. That’s what this project was like. A once in a lifetime opportunity? Hopefully not, but I might just say an extra prayer just in case.
